BETHELHEM, PA – People are excited for Ja Rule and Ashanti’s Wind Creek Steel stage at PNC Plaza on Friday night.
One of the producers and rappers from Lehigh Valley has been given the opportunity to open.
Ja Rule’s opening act, Red McFly, said, “It’s definitely the best moment of my career to do something like this.” “We are grateful that Musikfest has given artists in the region such an opportunity,” said McFly.
McFly is from Allentown. He’s been rapping and producing for years. His music career was officially cemented when big names like Kanye West and French Montana rapped his beats.
“It’s always nice when an artist you research thinks it sounds good enough to collaborate with,” says McFly.
“It’s still beautiful to me. It still blows my mind,” he continued.
On Fridays, McFly will perform in his own backyard. He says the opportunity for Lehi to perform openings for famous artists in front of his ballet audience should inspire others.
“I’m basically just opening the door for someone else to do something bigger than me,” McFly said.
He hopes Friday’s performance will be the start of someone’s career.
So they could one day open a big name at Musikfest.
“If I can do something like that, it’s a big achievement for me,” McFly said.
He appeared on 69 News at Noon from Bethlehem’s Musikfest Cafe ahead of the opening of Ja Rule and Ashanti on Friday night.
