Anne HecheIt’s been over a week since I was seriously injured in a violent car accident in Los Angeles, according to city records.

The 53-year-old actress died from inhalation and burns, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s office records.

Heche’s date of death is given as August 11th. Heche was declared brain dead that night, but his heart was still beating as he was on life support for his organ donation. Heche was taken off her life support on Sunday, her agent said.

Heche was alone in his car when he crashed into a home in Los Angeles’ Marvista neighborhood on Aug. 5, engulfing the car and home in flames, according to Los Angeles police and fire departments. The home’s resident and her pets were able to escape the blaze unharmed.

Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and was in a coma after the crash, her family and friends said in a statement. Her family did not expect Heche to survive the injury, her family said, adding that “donating an organ has long been her choice.”

Results of a blood draw taken hours after the crash showed that Heche had drugs in her system, but further investigation into the drugs revealed that they may have been present due to drugs administered by medical personnel. Additional testing was performed to rule out possible Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators told ABC News that no alcohol was detected in Heche’s blood sample, but the blood draw was taken hours after the crash.

LAPD investigators told ABC News on August 12 that they had closed a criminal investigation due to recent developments in Heche’s condition.
