Avril Lavigne has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 37-year-old pop-punk icon, behind a string of hits like “Sk8er Boi,” “Complicated,” and “Girlfriend,” will be the 2,731st celebrity to be honored at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard.
The unveiling ceremony will be held on August 31st.
Hall of Fame Producer Ana Martinez commented:
“Avril’s fans have been blowing up my phone asking when she’s going to get a star. I’m thrilled to say that now is the time.”
Meanwhile, the Canadian star provided an update on the progress of the film based on the 2002 classic “Sk8er Boi.”
She told Nylon: to do for a very long time. ”
Avril, who released her seventh studio album Love Sax in February, believes the key to her longevity lies in her authenticity.
She explains: What I was going through as a teenager. And now, like my new album ‘Love Sux’, it seems to have evolved.
“I have veered here and there. My previous album, Head Above Water, was darker, more introspective, and more emotional. I’m back like a blow, a rock out, a loud guitar. This album is who I am and I feel there are many sides to me.”
