• The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library will host an opening reception for the new exhibit on Friday, September 9 at 6:30 PM at 1008 Wall St. in La Jolla. “Continuum: The Art of Faiya Fredman” takes a closer look at the life work of Fredman (1925–2020). His 70-year art career has yielded an eclectic body of work produced by experimentation with unusual formats and unconventional materials. “Derek Bosher: Occupation” is a visual overview of the various humorous occupations represented by Bossier’s distinctive head. “Aiming for 100 people” A selection from Athenaeum’s Erika & Fred Torri Artists’ Books Collection. • Exhibits at the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art “Alexis Smith: The American Way” Begins Thursday, September 15th at 700 Prospect St., La Jolla. This exhibition is California artist Smith’s first retrospective in 30 years. Smith is widely known for his collages of his culture-heavy mixes of film, literature and pop.
