
The 29th Annual BioNJ Dinner, held at the Hilton East Brunswick last week, was the organization’s first live dinner since February 2020. The life sciences community in New Jersey fully supported an inspiring evening, celebrating unprecedented medical innovation from the Garden State. .
BioNJ CEO and President Debbie Hart told an audience of life science professionals: You are the reason we are here tonight.
“It’s safe to say the past two years have been tumultuous. Despite the turmoil, the past two years have seen 70 new FDA drug approvals from companies located in New Jersey. all NEW APPROVALS – Our great state has continued to lead the way in helping patients live longer and better lives. ”
During the dinner program, the 2022 Annual Dr. Sol J. Barer Award for Vision, Innovation, and Leadership was presented to New Jersey Commissioner of Health Judith Persichilli.

Having discussed the importance of leadership, partnership and innovation in the COVID-19 pandemic, Persichilli happily accepted the award.
Persichilli, who oversees the state’s health care system and whose primary mission is to help New Jerseyers live healthier, longer lives, said mission-oriented leadership grounded in a strong foundation of values ”will serve all of us.” It’s an engine that inspires…that’s what I experienced repeatedly during the pandemic.”
