The Washington Commanders cannot have a normal week.
head coach Ron Rivera announced the dismissal of the team Defensive line coach Sam Mills said on Tuesday, just over a month before the 2022 season begins:
Mills is in his 18th season in the NFL and his third in Washington since joining Rivera from the Carolina Panthers in 2020. After his death in 2005, he rose to fame in 2022.
Rivera added that it was “extremely difficult” to release Mills because of his family ties.
“I’ve known Sam for a long time and he’s a very good football coach and I appreciate everything he’s done,” Rivera said Tuesday. He helped me win the division in 2018. Things got tougher last year, but there are a few things I felt I would change.”

A big week for NFL teams
