New Jersey Blood Service (NJBS)is looking for several talented volunteers for a division of the New York Blood Center that provides blood to local patients.

Blood donor volunteers are an integral member of our team and their tasks include registering donors and assisting in the refreshment area.No medical background is required. Volunteers must be outgoing to provide friendly customer service, be able to perform tasks as needed, and provide proof of COVID vaccination prior to volunteering. I need transportation. All training will be provided, including additional precautions for the safety of our team and blood donors. Middlesex County Arts Institute We announce, promote, and support numerous arts and cultural events, exhibitions, and shows throughout January. These events are free to enjoy for all County residents and others.

Highlights from January’s events include:

  • Art Together – Art Together is Zimmerli’s free drop-in family art creation workshop series. Dates are February 12th, March 12th, April 2nd, May 21st from 1pm to his 3pm.

Join Middlesex County Health Department Winter Walk Wednesdays will be held on the last Wednesday of January (25), February (22) and March (29) at the Piscataway YMCA, 520 Hoes Lane, Piscataway. The event connects residents with local doctors and educators as they walk to improve their health and well-being.

Attendees will have the opportunity to have their questions answered by a Hackensack Meridian medical expert. This free event is open to the public.

Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office In the spring of 2023, we will host an eight-week Sheriff’s Citizen Academy for Middlesex County residents.

Now in its 10th year, the Sheriff’s Citizen Academy aims to educate Middlesex County residents about the various functions and duties of the Sheriff’s Office.

Applications are now being accepted for this program, which will be held at the Middlesex County Fire School in Thayerville.

The first session is scheduled for April 20th from 7-9pm. Classes continue every Thursday. We will have one Saturday class. The program will culminate in a graduation ceremony scheduled for June 15th.

Applications close by March 1st. Applications will be used to determine suitability for the program. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, reside in Middlesex County, have not been convicted of a felony, have not been investigated for a crime, and have undergone a limited background check.

Monroe Township Jewish War Veterans Post 609 We collect US and foreign stamps, both inside and outside envelopes.

Stamps are used by veterans as a hobby and as a treatment at veterans’ medical centers nationwide.

Stamps are not traded or sold. They are transferred free of charge to experienced patients.

There is also a demand for DVDs for veterans in the field.

Central Jersey Chapter 148 Korean War Veterans invites veterans of any service who served anywhere, including Europe, during the Korean War from June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953. Or those working in Korea from July 27, 1953 to the present.

Other veterans may join as associate members.

The group will meet in court at 1 Municipal Plaza, Monroe Township Municipal Building at 10:00 am on the second Wednesday of each month from May to December.

To become a member, you must pay a $25 annual membership fee to the Korean War Veterans Association and a $10 annual membership fee to your chapter.

Korean War Veterans National Life Membership is $75 for those 80 and older.

The chapter is involved in a variety of functions throughout the year, including fundraising to support veterans at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Menlo Park, the Lions Campus of the VA New Jersey Healthcare System, and the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland. I’m here.
