Two New Jersey medical institutions are collaborating to advance biomedical research and technology.
On August 23, the Princeton-based nonprofit Foundation for Health Advancement and Camden-based Cooper University Health Care formed a partnership that will enable them to work together. Under the Agreement Cooper clinicians, researchers and other team members are eligible to apply for the FHA Innovation Grant. Cooper also has access to the Research/Community Health and Social Services Grant program awarded by the New Jersey Health Foundation, an affiliate of FHA.
“The addition of Cooper University Healthcare as a leading academic health care system in Southern New Jersey further strengthens the Foundation’s network,” FHA Vice Chairman and CEO Dr. George Heinrich said in a statement. “We look forward to working with them to further advance health-related projects and companies across the state,” he said.
Neal Lemon, director of the Cooper Innovation Center, said the agreement will allow health systems to “network with other organizations, develop health solutions, improve patient care, and bring technology to market.”
Cooper shared Lemon’s words on Twitter, calling the announcement “a very important step forward for Cooper.”
