F1 CEO: No more races in Russia


F1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali says the sport has no plans to race in Russia. sports build magazine.

Six months ago, the country invaded Ukraine, killing more than 5,500 civilians and wounding more than 7,800, as of the UN’s August 22 update. A day after the invasion, F1 announced that it was “impossible to host the Russian Grand Prix under the current circumstances”.

A week later, F1 confirmed that it had ‘terminated’ its contract with the promoter of the Russian Grand Prix. This came after F1’s governing body announced that the reason for canceling the event was due to “force majeure”.
