Sioux Falls, South Dakota (Dakota News Now) – Bancorp’s 9th annual Downtown Riverfest takes place in Sioux Falls.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 20th from 4pm to 11pm at Fawick Park. According to a press release from Downtown Sioux Falls, this is a new location under construction at Cherapa Place. This annual event celebrates Big Sue His River with live music, a variety of activities, over 10 food vendors, over 20 display vendors, adult his drinks and more.

Fawick Park hosts live music. Event-goers are encouraged to listen on the lawn at Fawick Park.

Riverfest Activity Tent
With local children’s musician Phil Baker, South Dakota Public Broadcasting’s Bird Feeder Activity, Undeniably Dairy’s Ice Cream Scavenger Hunt, Butterfly House & Aquarium Ocean in Motion, and WoodGrain’s Bingo, there are plenty of fun activities for all ages. Activity tents are located in the Avera IT building parking lot at 212 E 11th St. 4-7:30 pm:

Earn free ice cream from the SDSU ice cream truck in the Undeniably Dairy Scavenger Hunt. Grab your scrambling sheet at the Riverfest Activity Tent and explore the event to find the Undeniably Dairy sign with the words to unscramble. Solve the puzzle and redeem it for free ice cream at the SDSU ice cream truck.
Friends of the Big Sioux River (FBSR) sell raffle tickets to win inflatable paddle boards and raise money for FBSR’s efforts to protect the Big Sioux River.

Canoeing and kayaking are not possible this year as Fawick Park does not have a boat ramp. Event attendees are invited to park at the 1st Avenue ramp, one block west of Fawick Park, for easy access. Downtown parking is free nights and weekends. Check the DTSF website for parking and transportation details.
Volunteer at the 9th Annual Downtown Riverfest
