Family and friends said Friday their final goodbyes to Christopher Jack (CJ) Hackett – the 16-year-old Stepinac High School student who was killed in a hit-and-run last week.
Police say DPW’s Stephen Dolan was driving under the influence of alcohol and fled the scene of the accident.
The funeral was held at St. Barnabas Church in the Bronx.
“CJ had the most angelic smile,” says friend Bernadette Gavin. “He left us too soon. I’m still in shock.”
The eldest of three children, CJ loved basketball and video games.
Friends tell News 12 they will miss his playful and outgoing personality. “CJ worked for my sister at Gavin’s Irish Country Inn. He worked with his daughter Kathleen. They were all friends and he was the greatest waiter in the world.” He lit up the whole place.Everyone loved him.He made everyone feel welcome and special when you stepped in there,” said a friend. says Mary Gavin of
Dolan’s bail was reduced to $500,000 by a Westchester County judge. He was charged with leaving the scene of the accident and died, and faces up to seven years in prison.
