Heading into week three of fall camp, Georgia is relieved of the first major injury suffered in fall camp.
Junior wide receiver Ariane Smith injured his ankle during Thursday’s practice, and it was confirmed Friday afternoon that he will be sidelined for at least six weeks as the former dual-sport athlete undergoes ankle surgery.
The third-year wideout did not participate in this spring’s track and field season in Georgia. Instead, he attended spring practice while rehabilitating from a broken leg, an injury that ended his sophomore season a year ago.
Losing Smith for long isn’t what the Bulldogs wanted, but injury reporting so far is much better than it was a year ago.
This is the injury report posted for last season’s game against Clemson.
