Guthrie Green Park in Tulsa is celebrating a big birthday this week.
It’s been 10 years since we had a park in Tulsa. Prior to 2012, the region was trucking depot Some considered it an unattractive area of downtown.
“It’s hard to believe that where Guthrie Greene sits today was an industrial cargo yard without trees and green grass,” said Kim Jesse, Senior Director at Guthrie Greene. increase.
Ten years later, the park has become a gathering place for people. That’s what happened at today’s birthday bash. The party ended with balloons and cake. Food Trucks Due to the popularity of Wednesdays, several different food trucks were parked.
People were also relaxing on the lawn enjoying music and playing games.
“What we love to do most is provide free events to our downtown community. We support the community and support the performing arts, health, fitness, and all the rich culture Tulsa has to offer.” Jesse said.
The festivities continue all week with Oklahoma-themed movie nights on Thursdays, concerts on Fridays, and pancakes and cartoons on Saturday mornings.
