Lexington, Kentucky (August 29, 2022) — At the University of Kentucky, student health is our number one priority. It is important that students are familiar with on-campus resources that help them stay healthy and safe.
The University Health Service has played a vital role in building a stable health care system for students and employees on UK campuses. With the addition of Epic as new hospital software for UK HealthCare, there is a new sign-up process for incoming and returning students. You must be logged into your MyChart account before booking with UHS.
How to sign up for MyChart:
UK HealthCare MyChart gives you online access to your electronic health records. MyChart allows you to view all your health information for UK Healthcare in one place. You can check medicines, vaccinations, test results, appointments, and more.

• On your computer, go to: ukhealthcare.com/mychart Learn about MyChart. Alternatively, visit the login page at: mychart.uky.edu.
• Download MyChart on your mobile device. Search for ‘UK HealthCare’ in the app.
Sign up for a MyChart account
Patients over the age of 18 can set up a MyChart account at any time.
If you don’t have an activation code, request one.
If you don’t have an activation code, you can request one online. To request an activation code online:
- On the MyChart login screen on the MyChart website or mobile app, Sign up now.
- click Sign up online.
- click Please match your own with our records.supply There are personal verification items, such as the last four digits of your social security number or date of birth, and an activation code sent to your email address or mobile phone.

2. Enter your activation code and personal verification items such as the last four digits of your social security number and date of birth.select Next.
3. On the next page, select:
• MyChart username. Choose something that other people are unlikely to guess, but easy to remember. It cannot be changed at any time.
• password. Choose a unique combination of numbers and letters, using both uppercase and lowercase letters. The password must be different from your MyChart username. Choose a password that you haven’t used on any other website.

Once your MyChart account is set up, there are many ways your students can use UHS as a resource. Through medical bills, full-time students have access to all types of care.
Other Important UHS Information:
Full-time UK students pay for health insurance and get free unlimited access to University Health Services (UHS), the university’s medical clinic.
Medical fees are one of the mandatory fees charged to full-time undergraduate and graduate students during the fall and spring semesters. Health insurance premiums are not waived even if students have their own health insurance.Call us for questions about your medical billing status 859-218-3204.

Your health insurance premium includes unlimited office visits for:
- Allergy injection (as directed by an allergist)
- behavioral health visit
- Gynecology / Ward (Gynecology, Urology)
- Health education and health servicesinclude:
- phone number nurse– Discuss illnesses, injuries, test results, and other health concerns.
- primary care visit
- Observation room maintenance
- On-call doctor for after-hours advice
- limited medicine
- Some STI lab tests
- Travel and Employment Physical Examinations.
- CLIA waived in-house testing (except for rapid flu and rapid HIV)
UHS is now able to bill private insurance for procedures and appointments not covered by student health insurance premiums. This is something we couldn’t do before.
