School bus is back! Is your child on the school bus?
Please teach your child the following tips and rules of conduct to ensure their safety during pickup and drop-off.
1. Bus stop
Children must arrive at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the bus’s scheduled arrival time. Go to the bus stop and show your child where to wait for the bus. At least 5 steps away from the curb. Remind your child that the bus stop is not a place to run or play.
2. Be considerate
Please be considerate to the owner regardless of where the bus stop is.
3. wait
Children must always wait until the bus has come to a complete stop and the bus driver has given the signal to board.
4. Cross the street
Children should not walk behind school buses. If your child has to cross the street in front of the bus, walk along the sidewalk or side of the street so that before the bus she goes to a large staircase (10 feet) with 5 or more steps and makes eye contact with the child. Please tell me to take it. Wait for the traffic lights to cross.
5. Did you drop something?
If your child drops a ball, book, etc. near the school bus, the safest thing is for your child to tell the bus driver immediately. Children should not attempt to pick up items as the driver may not be able to see them.
6. Do not push or push
Students should not get on or off the bus.
7. Look forward
After finding a seat on the bus, have the children face forward.
8. Seat belt
Students must wear the seat belts provided. Parents should teach young children how to do this themselves.
9. Termination
When the bus stops, get off and look left and right before crossing the road.
