A Brooklyn woman says water has been pouring out of her apartment’s ceiling since January.
At one point, she says, she had leaks for 11 straight days.
“This condition is not only unhealthy,” said Emilia. It’s dangerous. “
She has filed 13 complaints with the Home Preservation Authority since January of this year, seven of which were filed between August 20th and August 30th, during the 11-day leak period. Equivalent.
HPD inspected the apartment on Sept. 2, which revealed six violations. There were 4 emergency repairs, 2 water leaks, 1 plaster damage and 1 mold violation.
The building owner, 645 Realty LLC, is responsible for repairing the leak. Management company staff refused to be on camera, but said they believed their upstairs neighbors were contributing to Emilia’s problems.
News 12’s Katelynn Ulrich has contacted the management company 10 times and was told they would be in touch, but has yet to hear back.
Ulrich also said the problem was resolved and spoke with an upstairs neighbor who said he didn’t know the reason behind the flooding.
The company has until September 19th to complete the repairs.
