Khan Public Health reports 977 new COVID-19 cases


BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Public Health Department reported no new COVID-19 deaths and 977 cases on Friday.

This brings the county total to 278,574 total cases of COVID-19 among its residents, with 2,518 deaths and 268,746 recoveries from COVID-19. In the county, 699,884 of his COVID-19 tests are negative, 278,574 are positive, and 1,095 tests are pending.

So far, Kern County has confirmed 4,432 Omicron variants and 3,648 Delta variants.

According to Kern Public Health, since January 21, 2021, there have been 51,424 cases of COVID-19 among fully vaccinated individuals, of whom 786 were hospitalized and 172 died after vaccination. (booster shots don’t count). During the same period, there were 134,076 cases of her COVID-19 among unvaccinated individuals, of which 3,927 were hospitalized and 1,150 died without being vaccinated.

Currently, 490,283 residents of Kern County are fully vaccinated and 430,368 residents are unvaccinated, according to the Kern County Public Health Department. Vaccinated individuals have an average daily incidence rate of 13.49 over the past 14 days and unvaccinated individuals have an average daily incidence rate of 20.95 over the past 14 days.
