Kimora Lee Simmons has defended her daughter Aoki Lee Simmons’ modeling career.
After being criticized for taking a job while studying at America’s prestigious Harvard University, television fashion guru Aoki claimed to be “a student” to follow her passion outside the classroom.
When asked about the criticism directed at the 19-year-old student, she told People.com: The scene…it doesn’t make you more or less a business person, more or less a student or a student of the world, or more or less a model.It’s important to explore all your passions.
The 47-year-old TV star added: “I love that she’s trying to follow in my footsteps. But if I had some of what they have, I would I think it’s a pain because you might not have become a model..but I think it’s just looking at different sides of the coin.why would you want to do that?but education I love the clumsy queen who has been educated, she is the clumsy queen who has been educated.”
Aoki, whose father is Kimora’s ex-husband Russell Simmons, also defended her modeling career after being questioned by a follower on social media.
One TikTok fan asked, “You are very articulate and clearly educated…why did you (sic) choose modeling?” And Aoki replied: “I have a lot of education, so why go into a field that doesn’t necessarily require a degree or a lot of book knowledge?. I think you need to normalize what you love, you don’t have to do what you’re good at right away.”
She went on to add: Second, in one person she can be two different people. That’s exactly who I am. ”
