Biker group Knights on Bikes went all out on Saturday to help those in need.
The group used $1,200 from its latest fundraiser with the Knights of Columbus to purchase several shopping carts full of groceries and make a special delivery to the God Prepared Food Pantry in Patchig. .
“We bring together a good chunk of the motorcycle community to shop for food at the Long Island Food Pantry for those in need,” said Kevin McGill.
All donations are distributed to 18 different institutions on Long Island to benefit hundreds of families struggling to keep food on the table.
Knights member Rose McGill said, “It’s heartfelt to see this being donated to a good charity and really benefiting our neighbors in LI.”
Another member of the Knights, Angela Buckley, told News 12 that feeding for her family is “a very important aspect of life.”
“Without that worry, it could be a less stressful environment for the whole family,” she added.
The group aims to provide school supplies to children in October.
