With less than two weeks left in the season, the Panthers add another weapon to new quarterback Baker Mayfield. The Jaguars have been open to a deal with Chenault for some time. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Chenault was selected by Colorado in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and has 1,219 receiving yards and five touchdowns in two seasons with Jacksonville. He made a total of 30 appearances, of which he started 22. He failed to score a touchdown last season as the Jaguars finished with an NFL-worst 3–14 record.
Chenault reunites with Carolina offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, who coached quarterbacks in Jacksonville as a rookie.
The Panthers will begin the season on September 11 at 1:00 PM ET at home against the Browns.
