About 20 young musicians gave a free concert on Thursday at the Lititz Farmers Market in Lititz Springs Park. Rob Reese, owner of Rob’s Rock School in Lititz, says young musicians like him rarely got a chance to play live when he was a teenager in the early 2000s.
“Part of my approach in lessons is to bring in as many (performance) opportunities as possible,” Reese said.
Rhys of Mannheim said about 70 students are attending lessons at his school at 7 E. Orange Street in Lititz. Reese teaches guitar at school and Cass Dignan teaches piano.
Thursday’s concert at Lititz ended with a joint performance of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s timeless classic, “Free Bird,” with plenty of guitar solos.
