“Star Trek 4” lost a director.
Matt Shackman, who was supposed to direct the new film, has dropped out due to scheduling conflicts surrounding his work on Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four.
In a statement, Paramount Pictures said, “Matt Shakman is an incredibly talented filmmaker and we regret that the timing was not right to direct the upcoming Star Trek films. We thank him for his many contributions and are excited about his creativity, and we look forward to bringing this next chapter’s vision and its reach to audiences around the world.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the search for a new director will begin soon.
