Madonna feels “confused” by modern pop music.
One of the best-selling artists of all time, the 64-year-old singer feels the music industry has changed a lot since her pop heyday.
The ‘Like a Prayer’ hitmaker who rose to global stardom in the ’80s explains:
“Just give me a song. I need a beginning, a middle and an end. You know what I mean? People’s music confuses me. And there are too many artists on the song. I will listen to them.”
Madonna has always been “invested” in empowering women through her music.
And the pop icon is proud of her hit records and the impact they have had on wider society.
She told Paper magazine: The melody is really strong and the singer is really good, but she doesn’t do much about making women think, “Wow, I don’t have to live in a man’s world, I don’t have to live the rest of my life under the male gaze.” I didn’t invest. It allows me to look at life in a different way and to be calmer. I can have my own voice and my own vision. ”
Madonna was also keen to “provoke people” through her music.
Asked about what drove her progressive approach, she said, “I call it curiosity. It’s the desire to provoke people and wake people up. I think the same thing.” I hate repeating
