New Jersey Food Council Elects Wegmans Executive as Board Chair

The New Jersey Food Council (NJFC) announced Friday that Joseph Sophia, senior vice president of Wegmans Food Markets and divisional manager of New Jersey and Metro New York, will be elected chairman of its new board. did.

The NJFC will formally make appointments at its annual membership reception on January 30 at the Forthgate Country Club in Monroe Township. At the same time, New Jersey Food Council members and attendees will host a networking reception with key state food industry executives and experts, as well as nominate and elect new officers and board of directors.

Joining the team of officers is Andrew Kent of Glass Gardens as Vice Chairman and Suzanne DelVecchio of QuickChek as Secretary.

Attendees will also hear from Saker ShopRites Chairman Richard Saker at the 2020 Membership Event.

“Richard Saker has been an asset and an important part of our history during his tenure as Chairman of the NJFC. We are equally excited to begin a new decade with Joe Sophia and a new team of officers leading the way,” said NJFC President Linda Doherty.
