Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua 2 match results, highlights: Ukrainian champion retains title by decision


There was no doubt that Oleksandr Usyk was a really good man when he defeated Anthony Joshua in their first matchup, but the Ulcainians wiped them out in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Usyk won the rematch and retained his WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles inside his Superdome in Jeddah. After 12 rounds of intense fighting, Usyk raised his hand after splitting his decision in a fight that was unquestionably worthy of being named the winner.

Usyk had a terrifying moment. Usyk again used slickboxing to largely upset Joshua throughout the match. Joshua made adjustments during the fight to focus on Usyk’s body, and eventually he was able to fire upstairs, appearing to severely injure Usyk in the ninth round. and showed true championship qualities before returning in round 10 to dominate the final three rounds of the fight and cement the victory.

The official post-match scorecards were 115-113 and 116-112 for Usyk, with Joshua turning in one card of 115-113.
