Latrobe — The Pittsburgh Steelers made some roster moves after a preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. They traded a pair of linebackers, signed James Vaughters, and waived/injured Tusar Skipper.
Boaters joined the league in 2015 as an undrafted free agent from Stanford University, and has bounced around various practice teams for most of his career. He joined the active roster for the first time in his 2019, when his Chicago Bears revitalized him in his mid-November game against Philadelphia, making his NFL debut against Philadelphia.
The Boaters played for the Green Bay Packers, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the New England Patriots, meanwhile adding a practice squad with the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders. Later, it was released in early May of this year. He has a total of 33 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 27 career appearances.
Skipper participated in his second stint with the Steelers at this training camp. He had previously spent the preseason and six games with the team in 2019, but did not appear in a game until Pittsburgh fired him and the New York Giants picked him up. has played for the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons, splitting his time between active rosters and practice teams in both cities.
The skipper has 10 games, 7 tackles and half sacks. He appeared in his preseason game last weekend in Seattle against the Seahawks, but didn’t mark his score in the box.
