Reno, NV (KOLO) – The Reno Public Market is scheduled to open this fall.
People associated with Midtown’s largest establishment recently confirmed the first round of vendors at its food hall, dubbing it “Everyday Food Truck Fridays.”
The food hall at the heart of this development has 18 vendors all locally owned.
Steve Schroeder, General Manager of Reno Public Market, said: “We want this to be the cool hangout you want to go to. We have great food here.”
Cuisine includes classics such as barbecue and burgers, Asian fusion, and Latin flare.
Schroeder, who is also behind Food Truck Friday, said it could be the next big step for people with dreams of becoming a restaurateur.
“Instead of going to a full restaurant that has everything you need: leasing, equipment, development, all TI. rice field. “It will create jobs, it will generate sales tax revenue…it will have a big impact.”
A La Parrilla Latin Food’ is one example that made the vendor’s first cut.
Andrea Bran and Kevin Panche started their business six months ago as a way to bring new flavors to the biggest, small cities.
“We really think this is an opportunity for many small business owners,” Panche says. “We sell food from Colombia, Guatemala and Cuba. She’s from Guatemala and I’m from Colombia, but we don’t have food like that here in Reno.”
A La Parrilla adds new dishes to its menu but maintains many traditional dishes such as empanadas.
“Don’t be afraid to try our food, because it’s really good,” Panche said.
In addition to the food hall, RPM will also house a stage and art collective for performers.
