Martinsburg — To provide a unique source of entertainment in downtown Martinsburg, RePlay Gaming is bringing a gaming vibe to Queen Street featuring an esports league in the coming weeks.
Our young business partners Cheyenne Kesecker, Klayton Richards, and Zane Winter are passionate about this new project and are excited to share it with the community.
Scheduled to open in the coming weeks, RePlay Gaming will not only offer fun for all ages and experiences, including gaming, but will also offer weekly hosted tournaments featuring Super Smash Bros.
“Since the day we moved in, so many people have stopped by and asked what was going on with the space,” Kesecker said.
The team of entrepreneurs shared that the idea to create the business came from a spark of inspiration and a desire to provide more entertainment in the region.
“The idea came to me in a conversation one night. We are all gamers and wanted to offer something else. “It comes down to ‘What can we do in Hagerstown or Winchester?'” Richards explained. “We wanted to bring something here that people can do.”
They all grew up around Martinsburg and said it was important for them to stay in the Martinsburg area.
“We wanted to stay in the area because it’s our community, but we need more entertainment and things to do,” Kesecker said. “Having such a supportive community makes me feel so good. It’s really changed me since I was a kid. I feel safer here.”
Richards and Winter built all desktop towers for RePlay Gaming, a game center that offers the latest generation of consoles such as PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch.
A comfortable, cozy and low-light atmosphere, this space is suitable for families, children, teens and groups of friends. Kesecker said the experience of starting a business and having it all come to fruition is surreal.
“This is very new to the area and has been a bit of a disappointment from people. Jamie Lopez and his team have really been on board and supporting us. I thought about it,” she said.
When the center officially opens, it will be open from 4:00 pm to 2:00 am. RePlay Gaming operates on a membership and hourly play basis.
To play, non-members will pay $8 per hour. Members pay a monthly fee of $5, but members are paid $7 an hour and can be paid after the game.
“It’s a place where people can relax,” she added.
RePlay Gaming is located at 205 N. Queen St. in Martinsburg. For the latest information, visit RePlay Gaming’s Facebook page.
