The Lincoln Community Health Center will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the new Waldport Clinic on Thursday, September 1 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
At 10:30 am, a ribbon-cutting ceremony with refreshments will be held with local leaders. After the ceremony, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, a mobile vaccination van will provide her COVID tests and vaccines free of charge to her children aged 6 months and older.
“For years, South County residents have asked us to provide health care services south of Newport,” said Jane Romero, director of health and welfare. “We are delighted to have purchased this building to serve this long-standing need.
The Lincoln County Department of Health and Human Services purchased a 2,000-square-foot building at 525 N Bay Street in Waldport in April and made significant improvements over the summer. Event parking is located at the building with overflow parking across the street.
The expansion will allow the Lincoln Community Health Center to provide primary care, mental health, and some public health services to Southern County residents closer to home. Romero explained that residents “will be able to get general health care, vaccinations, reproductive medicine, and necessary tests and referrals at our new clinic.” Health & Human Services covers primary care, mental health and public health, so clinics can provide patients with holistic care in one place, she emphasized.
The public is welcome to start an appointment at the clinic during the open house or call 541-265-4947.
