Robert M. “Bob” Bernie 85, formerly of Wintersville, Richmond, Ohio, died at his home on August 13, 2022.

He was born on November 1, 1936, in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of the late Dwayne and Velma (Milhoan) Barney. In addition to his wife, he was widowed by his grandson, Ryne McCoy. Brother, Donald Burney. sister-in-law, Joanne Barney;

Bob was bequeathed to his wife of 62 years, Linda (Patterson) Barney. son, Doug (Kathy) Barney of Wintersville. Sherry (Patrick) McCoy, daughter of Apex, North Carolina. Grandson, Kale (Megan) McCoy of Raleigh, North Carolina. Great-grandchildren, Harlow, Lennon, Beckham McCoy, Kylie Stall (Daughter of Ryne)

He retired from Weirton Steel and was a member of the Bell Chapel Methodist Church. He was a member of Steubenville Masonic Lodge #45 F&AM and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. Bob was a master carver and he loved giving his carvings as gifts. Bob always said that he was not the one doing the work, but that God was leading his hand.

He loved antique cars, including a restored 53 Chevy, and one of his greatest joys was restoring cars with his son Doug. Bob also enjoyed fishing, including trips to Lake Erie and Canada. His greatest joys and loves were his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
