Shelton’s Hawley Lane Shoes donate 20% of store sales to help a man waiting for a double organ transplant.
Store co-owners Dave Levy and Joe Gradia said a portion of their sales from today through Sunday will go to Jimmy Nuzzo in Norwalk. His 62-year-old Nuzzo is awaiting heart and liver transplants at a Boston hospital.
“He’s the only one who takes his shirt off his back to help someone in need,” Levy said.
“Now it’s our turn to give back to Jimmy,” Gladia added.
Nuzzo, along with his wife Lisa, say they are grateful for all the financial support they receive, but the real reason they are speaking out is asking the public to pray for them. , to thank you for the amazing outpouring of support.
“We’re the type of people who get over this and pay it forward,” said Lisa Nuzzo.
Nuzzo said both transplants could take place on Friday or a week from now.
Levy and Gradia say those interested in donating just need to come to the checkout and tell the cashier, “Their purchase is for Jimmy.”
