Carthaginian senior and amateur boxer Cindy Salazar won the 114-pound Open division title at the Open Houston Invitational last Saturday.

The Beckville Ladycats Volleyball started the final day of the Leon tournament in eighth place, losing 1-2 to Leon 25-18, 25-19, Roxdale 25-14, 25-17 and Cayuga 25. We lost -21. , and 25-23.
Amber Harris had a combined 24 kills and 24 digs that day. Karsyn Coleman had her 3 blocks and he had 5 kills. Karissa McDowell has had 19 bargains. Setter Sophie Elliott, on the other hand, had 47 assists, 23 digs and five kills.

Beckville went 2-1 the day before, losing to Franklin 25-16 25-14, Kennard 25-17 25-8 and Snook 25-14 25-10.
Combined, Harris had 19 kills and 21 digs on the day, MJ Lyles had 11 kills, Rainie Jones had 21 digs, and Elliot had 41 assists in 14 digs.
The incumbent 2A state champion will play in the White Oak tournament starting Thursday.

On Thursday at 4:45 PM, there’s the ninth grade B football game against Kilgore at Bulldog Stadium. Grade 9 A will start at 5:15pm and the junior varsity will start at 7:00pm.
Kilgore Field is currently still under construction so the game was moved to Bulldog Stadium.
