Smith, 54, said on the show, “If the American people wanted me to run for president of the United States, I would strongly consider it.” !”

This isn’t the first time Smith has publicly declared that he would consider running for president.

Last Tuesday, Smith appeared on Feinbaum’s show and claimed that if he won the race and was Commander-in-Chief, he’d be “pretty good.”

In an Aug. 23 interview with Finebaum, Smith said, “Enough people have come to me and said, ‘Stephen A., you have a legitimate chance of winning the presidential election of the United States.’ In other words, I would consider running strongly, strongly.”

Known for his work at ESPN, Smith is synonymous with sports media, providing passionate opinions and exuberant responses to top sports headlines. Although he has never formally run for public office, he has appeared on national news networks such as FOX News, MSNBC and CNN. In an interview with former Los Angeles Clippers star JJ Reddick, Smith claims to have interviewed CNN about the show’s potential.

Smith eventually returned to ESPN in 2011 after leaving the network in 2009.

As of Tuesday night, Smith has not formally revealed which political party he would partner with if the popular sports TV personality were to run for president.
