Lexington, Kentucky (August 19, 2022) — University of Kentucky students will be invited to the Welcome Back Festival sponsored by the British Alumni Association, British Parents and Families Association and the University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union to celebrate the first day of the Fall 2022 term on Monday 22nd August.
The festival begins at 9am and continues on the William T. Young Library Walkway (by Rose Street) until noon, then moves to Wildcat Alumni Plaza (Champions Avenue across from Memorial Coliseum) from 1pm to 4pm .
Students can get free donuts from North Lime Coffee & Donuts and take TapSnap photos with the William T. Young Library in the background during the morning of the festival.
In the afternoon, students enjoy complimentary ice cream from Taylor Bells while taking a “first day of school” photo with Bowman the Wildcat Statue at the Wildcat Alumni Plaza. Freebies and door prizes are also distributed here.
Student Alumni Association (SAA) members in attendance will receive a gift. SAA members are students who contribute $25 or more annually to the UK Foundation. Students can learn more about being a member of the SAA by checking out the website http://ukalumni.net/saa.
The Welcome Back Festival rain location is on the second floor of the Gatton Student Center.
