Surge Energy moves to new headquarters near Energy Corridor on expansion deal

Surge Energy US Holdings Signed a lease of 64,018 square feet to relocate its corporate headquarters to Westway Plaza at 11330 Clay Road, two miles northwest of the Energy Corridor. The independent oil and gas company will move from the Heron Lakes office park in northwest Houston, where he will gain 25,000 square feet in February 2023. CBRE’s Kevin Sachs represented Surge Energy.

Founded in 2015, Surge Energy is an independent oil and gas company focused on the Midland Basin in West Texas. Led by CEO Linhua Guan, the company has drilled over 500 wells and produced over 100 million gross barrels of oil equivalent. With nearly 200 employees, he has over 100 in Houston.

“As Surge Energy has grown, management has sought ways to provide employees with a better and more collaborative workplace,” Saxe said in a statement.

Westway Plaza is a mix of Fortune 500 businesses, fitness centers and delis, close to nearby hotels, shopping centers, parks and neighborhoods. The building is owned by TAF Westway Plaza, LLC.

Seripont Bio Service, a San Diego-area-based cell therapy development and manufacturing organization has leased a 76,000-square-foot facility at 9501 Lakeside in the Woodlands for its expansion to Houston. Brian, Dave Baker of JLL Capital Markets Buglione, Kevin McConn, represented the tenant and procured the building’s purchaser, Vitrian. Vitrian is a real estate company specializing in biomanufacturing and life science facilities. This property is located in the 77-acre Research Forest Lakeside development along Lake Woodlands. Scheduled to open in the first half of 2021, 9501 Lakeside will feature state-of-the-art manufacturing, process development, assay development and testing capabilities.

Momentum Multifamily We purchased the 184 unit Fountains of Rosenberg Apartments at 3419 Fountains Drive in Rosenberg. Colliers Chip Nash, Bob Heard and Jaleel Adatia represented seller Mosaic Fountains LP. The recently renovated community totaling 167,608 square feet features a resort-style pool with sundeck and fitness center. Located just south of US 59 by Seaborn Nature Park, the complex is located in the Richmond/Rosenberg submarket and is 89% occupied, with his 7,443 units in 53 projects. Rent averages $1,296.

St. Nicholas School, a private school serving students in the Texas Medical Center area, purchased a 48,000-square-foot former church on 5.5 acres at 3511 Linkwood Drive from the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. The school has been leasing the grounds since the church closed in the summer of 2018. Jeff Lokey and Glenn Dickerson of NewQuest Properties represented the seller. Chris Bergmann of JLL represented the buyer. The purchase was made through the school’s Taeken Ltd. affiliate.

ICC Cable Co., Ltd. has leased 59,376 sf at 10030 FM 1960 West to relocate its Houston branch to a larger location. Michael Foreman of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord. Cotton Munson of Davis Commercial Real Estate represented the tenant.

The Sugar Land location is one of 10 locations slated to open by the end of the year. Kunal and Sonit Seth are owners of The Seth Brothers Team, a real estate company.

Solugen purchased 4.1 acres of 20,000 square feet of warehouse space at 11851 Ormandy Street from Houston Fences. Jim McGonigle and Brandon Unch of Friche Anderson Real Estate Partners represented the purchaser. Troy Collins of Collins Realty Group represented the seller.
