This year’s fair will feature several new elements.
Beer served at several new locations at the Kansas State Fair
Kansas State Fair visitors can drink open-cup beer and wine at most locations in the park, and purchase these products at several new locations.
Alcohol can be purchased at six locations, including several in the beer garden.
Ale can be drunk anywhere on the premises, with the exception of Centennial Hall, a four-story building, and the Domestic Arts building.
In addition to beer and wine gardens, alcohol is served at the Grandstand, Roadhouse, Sunflower South and Lake Talbot.

New Owners of Original Beer Garden Offer New On-Tap Service
Along with gray and black paint, the new owners of the original beer garden are changing things up.
New owner Carrie Thatcher offers new draft beers, including local beers.
It will carry craft beers from Hutchinson’s Salt City Brewing Co. and Sandhills Brewing, as well as Vertigo IPA from McPherson’s Three Rings Brewery.
“We definitely promote Kansas products,” Thatcher said.
In addition to beer, Thatcher offers frozen sangria and blackberry sangria, as well as sangria jello shots.
“We aim for total diversity,” said Thatcher. “We cater to all ages.”
The Original Beer Garden also serves red beer on Chief’s Red Friday.

On September 16th, the Kansas Lottery will sponsor Chiefs Red Friday. PlayOn App members get $2 tickets. Visit the Kansas Lottery website and become a member. Fans are encouraged to wear Chiefs gear on his Fridays.

Baked Offerings — New Food at the Fair
Hutchinson-based Whole Family Foods introduces the OMG Chicken Sandwich and Cookie Dough Explosion Funnel Cake. The Original Beer Garden serves Burnt’s End Burgers and Burnt’s Fries.
Sandy’s Candy is participating in the fair for the first time, offering all kinds of goodies from caramels to sugar-free morsels.

The comedy routine Flying Fool jumps off a highboard in Gottschalk Park. The board rises from 10ft to 80ft. The pool is 26 feet in diameter and 10 feet deep.
The Flying Fool showtime will be extended for the duration of the fair.
Max Power and Nitro walk around the fair. Max he’s a 9 foot robot and Nitro is a mini monster truck. Max walks, talks and dances.

Battle of the Bands — Rock the Fair
The Battle of the Bands event will kick off the Grandstand acts at 5pm on Saturday, September 9th, with five bands competing for a $2,000 grand prize and a chance to play one of the Nex-Tech Grandstand acts, $1,000. increase. 2nd place prize money and his 3rd place prize money of $500.

The fair will add 8 LED message screens throughout the fair. The screen displays messages about special events and attractions.
Upgrade at the Kansas State Fair
The show remodeled the Expo Center and added a stage to Lake Talbot.
New competition at the fair
The fair launches two new competitions in the Domestic Art Building. In addition to brewing, farming and quilting contests, the fair will launch a cheesecake contest and a beef jerky contest.
The Ozkan also holds a tie-dye shoe contest and a table decoration contest. An insect hotel is also scheduled to appear.
young at heart day
There is a special day for those over the age of 55. Admission on Thursday, September 15 is $2 for anyone 55 and older.
Half price after 21:00
Admission is no longer free as it used to be, but after 21:00 every night it’s half the normal price.
Admission is $4 after 4pm on Tuesday, September 13th.
When is the Kansas State Fair?
This year’s Kansas State Fair runs September 9-18. Patrons need a ticket to enter the fairgrounds.
