The decision to create an entertainment destination in the North City is in the hands of the Port Authority

north street. Louis, Missouri (KMOV) – Developers are looking to transform the riverfront north of St. Louis into an entertainment district.

On Thursday, the St. Louis Port Authority will meet to discuss a development titled Lighthouse Landing. Nashville-based real estate developer M2 Development Partners (M2DP) is proposing a 67-acre recreational destination on Riverview Drive near Interstate 270. This includes marinas, water parks, theme hotels, restaurants, and retail stores. In a release, the company said: ”

The zoo’s $230 million, 425-acre North St. Louis County expansion is scheduled for 2026 and is approximately 1.5 miles from the site. St. Louis Development Corporation Executive Director Neil Richardson expects the Lighthouse Landing project to create 450 new living wage jobs in the city and expand the tax base in northern St. Louis.

City documents do not specify where the project will be funded, but a preliminary funding agreement for the project will be considered at Thursday’s Port Authority meeting.

It needs to be signed by November 1st for it to take effect, but no development timeline was given.
