In a national LocalCircles survey of people’s expectations of what India will achieve in the next five years, when India turns 80, nearly half (43%) of respondents said it would create sufficient employment and livelihood opportunities. felt to be the biggest challenge for the country. .

Only 39% of respondents across 371 districts were confident that India could create sufficient employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the meantime.

Less than a quarter of respondents believed India had achieved growth and prosperity during this period, while 38% expected growth and prosperity in the minority.

The survey received over 79,000 responses from citizens living in 371 districts of India. 64% of respondents were male and 36% of respondents were female.

41% of respondents were from Tier 1, 33% from Tier 2 and 26% from Tiers 3, 4 and rural districts.

The survey was conducted via the LocalCircles platform and all participants were valid citizens who were required to register with LocalCircles in order to participate in this survey.
