Three injured in police-involved shooting at Queens house party

Officials say three men were injured, one in critical condition, after a police-involved shooting in Queens late Friday night.

Police said the incident occurred at a house party in Springfield Gardens just before midnight.

Police said detectives were watching the party near 219th and 130th Streets because they thought they were a potential threat.

Police said a group of unknown men approached the house, pulled out at least three guns and began shooting at the house, which was attended by at least 75 to 100 people.

Police said the officers got out of the car and exchanged gunfire with a group of men, beating three of them.

Three people were taken to hospital, two in non-life threatening condition and one in critical condition.

News 12 learned that the detectives involved in the shooting were not injured, but were taken to a hospital for evaluation.

However, authorities are trying to determine the exact cause of the shooting and are urging anyone with information to contact the police.
