Tom Ford Cancels Fall 2022 Runway Show at New York Fashion Week

Tom Ford has canceled his Fall 2022 runway show, which was originally scheduled to close New York Fashion Week on February 16th at 8pm. It has been canceled, explaining that Ford’s Fall 2022 collection isn’t ready by the scheduled show dates.

In a statement, Ford said, “We strongly feel that a live presentation is the best way to convey a clear message for this season, so we are very disappointed that we will not be able to hold the show during New York Fashion Week. “Last month, we had a hard time internally when many of our staff at our design studio and atelier in Los Angeles and at our factory in Italy contracted COVID-19. , we are ultimately faced with the sad fact that we will not be able to complete the collection in time for New York Fashion Week.”

Ford’s cancellation would hit America’s fashion community hard. Not only is he his NYFW tent pole, he’s also chairman of the CFDA and chief executive of American fashion. Current questions are: Will other designers follow in Ford’s place? He has promised to unveil his Fall 2022 collection in virtual format later this year.
