Recently released dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta has been confirmed to take the stage at Reggae Sumfest 2023.
The Spartan Soldier entertainer was imprisoned at the Horizon Remand Center in Kingston, Jamaica before being released for good behavior early on March 23, 2023.
He was serving a three-year sentence for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The official Instagram page for the 30-year-old event uploaded a poster by Tommy Lee with the caption, “Sumfest! Get ready for the Spartan Soldiers to take over the stage on July 21st!”
The comment section was filled with excited fans who said they were looking to buy tickets. Some even pointed out how Sumfest was able to book artists so quickly after being released from prison.
One wrote: I am here for it! ‘, one said, ‘There’s still ink wet on that contract.’

Other artists confirmed to join the show are Minister Marion Hall, Richie Spice, Morgan Heritage, Valiant, Chronic Law, Kabaka Pyramid and Freddie McGregor.
Reggae Sumfest will be held in Montego Bay, Jamaica from July 16-22, 2023.
