Ukrainian parliamentarians see American schools in Rockland firsthand


A Ukrainian member of parliament toured a school in Rockland County and saw first-hand the American education system.

Natalia Pipa, Secretary of Education, Science and Innovation, was on a mission to spread peace and learn about American education at Viola Elementary School in Suffern.

“I think it’s a really good school with a lot of teaching space,” says Pipa. “You can feel it in many ways, especially from teachers and students.”

Suffern was the only school district that Pippa visited in New York.

During the tour, Pipa admired the library and the student garden. She spoke with a student from Ukraine whose family found refuge in Suffern earlier this year.

Pippa also visited schools in New Hampshire.
